PDF Compressor

Exam portals often allow only 100 KB to 500 KB per document. Shrink your scanned certificate or marksheet PDF to fit, right in your browser.

🔒 Files never leave your device

Leave empty to use the level above. With a target, stronger levels are tried until the file fits.

How to use

  1. Choose your PDF file.
  2. Pick a compression level. Medium works for most scanned documents.
  3. If the form gives a limit, type it in Target size, for example 200.
  4. Tap Compress PDF, check the new size and download.

How this compressor works

Scanned certificates are usually large photos inside a PDF. The tool redraws each page at a sensible resolution and saves it as an optimised JPG, which can cut the size by 50–90%. Because pages become images, text in the new PDF cannot be selected or searched. That is fine for form uploads, which only need a readable copy.

Tips

  • Black and white mode makes scanned documents much smaller and keeps text sharp.
  • For a 100 KB limit with many pages, split the PDF or scan only the needed pages.
  • Zoom in on the downloaded file to check that marks and dates are still readable.
  • Password protected PDFs must be unlocked first.

Frequently asked questions

How do I compress a PDF to under 100 KB?

Type 100 in Target size and tap Compress PDF. The tool tries stronger levels until the file fits. For multi-page scans, also tick black and white.

Is there a file size or page limit?

No fixed limit. Very large PDFs (over 50 pages) can be slow on older phones because all work happens on your device.

Will the quality drop?

Some sharpness is lost at higher levels. Medium keeps documents clear for reading and printing.

Is my document uploaded?

No. The PDF is opened and compressed inside your browser. It never reaches our server.

Why did the size not go down?

Some PDFs, such as those made from typed text, are already small. Converting them to images can make them larger. In that case, use your original file.
